Critical Rule: MLL Resets to $0 After Your First Payout

The single most important rule to understand before requesting your first Topstep withdrawal is the Maximum Loss Limit (MLL) Reset:

1. Before Your First Payout: On a $50,000 Express Funded Account, your MLL starts at -$2,000 and trails your end-of-day balance up to $0.
2. The Moment You Request a Payout: Your MLL immediately locks at $0. You can never let your account balance dip below $0 again.
3. Practical Example:
   • Suppose you build a $3,000 profit balance after 5 winning days of $200+.
   • If you withdraw the maximum 50% ($1,500), your remaining account balance is $1,500 and your MLL is $0—meaning you have $1,500 in remaining drawdown cushion for future trades.
   • If you only build $1,000 in profit and withdraw $500, you are left with just $500 in total drawdown room before the account is closed.
