Your broker gives you a leverage limit (like 1:100), but your True Leverage is how much of that you are actually using based on your open position sizes.
Current balance + floating PnL.
Forex = 100,000. Crypto = 1. XAUUSD = 100.
Enter your position details to see how much effective leverage you are actually using.
Broker Leverage (Maximum Leverage): This is the maximum ratio of borrowed capital your broker allows you to use. For example, 1:100 means you can control $100,000 of currency with just $1,000 of margin. Prop firms often offer 1:30 or 1:100.
True Leverage (Effective Leverage): This is the actual leverage you are deploying at any given time. It is calculated by dividing the total notional value of all your open positions by your account equity. Even if your broker offers 1:500 leverage, if you open a 0.1 lot trade ($10,000 notional) on a $10,000 account, your True Leverage is exactly 1:1. Keeping your true leverage low is the secret to surviving in prop trading.
