Why Analytics Matter
Most traders lose money not because of bad strategies, but because of bad habits they can't see. Trading analytics makes the invisible visible.
| Problem | Without Analytics | With Analytics |
|---|---|---|
| Revenge trading | "I felt fine" | "You entered 4 trades in 5 minutes after a loss" |
| Overtrading | "I was just active" | "You traded 3x your average on Tuesdays" |
| Bad timing | "Markets were tough" | "You lose money every day between 2-4 PM ET" |
| Inconsistent sizing | "I adjust to conditions" | "Your position sizes vary by 200% — that's random, not strategic" |
Research
A 2025 study of 10,000+ funded traders found that those who reviewed analytics weekly improved their win rate by an average of 4.8 percentage points within 90 days.
Overview Dashboard
The Overview tab provides your core performance metrics at a glance.
Equity Curve + Drawdown Overlay
The equity curve tracks your cumulative P&L over time, with a red drawdown overlay showing peak-to-trough drawdowns:
| Metric | What It Shows | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Peak Equity | Your highest account value | Reference for drawdown calculation |
| Current Drawdown | Distance from peak | Prop firms terminate at max drawdown |
| Recovery Pattern | How quickly you bounce back | Consistency indicator |
P&L Distribution Histogram
Shows the frequency distribution of your trade returns:
- Right-skewed (more green) = Good — your winners are larger
- Left-skewed (more red) = Bad — your losers dominate
- Tight distribution = Consistent but small returns
- Wide distribution = Volatile — big wins AND big losses
Win/Loss Pie Chart
A simple visual breakdown of your win rate with color-coded segments.
Patterns Dashboard
The Patterns tab analyzes which chart patterns and timeframes work best for you.
Pattern Win Rate Radar Chart
A radar visualization comparing your win rate across all detected patterns:
- Bullish Engulfing — How well do you trade this pattern?
- Morning Star — Is this pattern profitable for you?
- Hammer / Doji — Do you enter these at the right time?
Pattern P&L Bar Chart
Horizontal bar chart showing total P&L per pattern — quickly identify which patterns make and lose money.
Timeframe Performance Cards
Compare your results across different timeframes:
| Timeframe | Best For | Typical WR |
|---|---|---|
| 1H | Scalping, quick trades | Higher volume, lower per-trade |
| 4H | Swing entries | Balanced risk/reward |
| 1D | Position trades | Lower volume, higher per-trade |
Timing Dashboard
The Timing tab reveals when you trade best.
Hour-of-Day P&L
A bar chart showing your P&L for each hour of the day (0-23):
- Green bars = Profitable hours
- Red bars = Losing hours
- Taller bars = More significant (more trades or bigger moves)
Day-of-Week P&L
Horizontal bar chart comparing your performance across weekdays:
| Day | Typical Pattern |
|---|---|
| Monday | Often volatile, gap plays |
| Tuesday-Thursday | Most volume, best for trending moves |
| Friday | Position squaring, reduced volume |
Best/Worst Hour Insight Cards
Instantly see:
- 🏆 Your most profitable hour (with total P&L)
- ⚠️ Your worst hour (consider avoiding it)
9 Algorithmic Detectors
These detectors run automatically on your trade history — no AI, no API costs, instant results.
Detection Categories
| # | Detector | Category | Severity |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Revenge Trading | Psychology | 🔴 Critical |
| 2 | Overtrading | Discipline | 🟡 Notable |
| 3 | Poor Risk/Reward | Strategy | 🔴 Critical |
| 4 | Holding Losers | Psychology | 🟡 Notable |
| 5 | Time Optimization | Intelligence | 🟡 Notable |
| 6 | Symbol Concentration | Risk | 🟢 Minor |
| 7 | Consistency Tracking | Achievement | 🟢 Positive |
| 8 | Position Sizing | Risk | 🟡 Notable |
| 9 | Momentum Detection | Intelligence | 🟢 Informational |
How Each Detector Works
Revenge Trading: Scans for trades entered within 5 minutes of a losing trade. If detected, you'll see a warning with the count and a suggestion to take 10-minute cooling-off periods.
Overtrading: Calculates your average trades per day, then flags days where you traded 2x or more above average.
Poor Risk/Reward: Compares your average winning trade to your average losing trade. If avg win < avg loss, it flags with a specific improvement target.
Holding Losers: Measures average duration of winning vs losing trades. If losers are held 2x+ longer, it suggests time-based stops.
Understanding Your Consistency Score
The Consistency Score is rated 0-100 and measures how predictable your returns are:
| Score | Rating | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 80-100 | Elite | Very consistent, ready for funded trading |
| 60-79 | Good | Solid with room for improvement |
| 40-59 | Average | Significant variation in performance |
| 0-39 | Needs Work | Returns are unpredictable |
How It's Calculated
- Coefficient of Variation — standard deviation of daily P&L divided by the mean
- Win Rate Bonus — higher win rates boost the score
- Inverted and scaled — lower variation = higher score
Prop Firm Connection
Many prop firms (FTMO, FundingPips) have consistency rules requiring that no single day exceeds 30-40% of total profits. A Consistency Score of 70+ typically means you'll pass these rules naturally.
How to Use Analytics Effectively
Weekly Review Protocol
| Step | What to Review | Action |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Check overall win rate trend | Is it improving week over week? |
| 2 | Review algorithmic insights | Address any warnings (revenge trading, etc.) |
| 3 | Check worst trading hours | Consider removing them from your schedule |
| 4 | Review pattern performance | Focus on your highest-WR patterns |
| 5 | Set/update trading goals | Adjust targets based on your trajectory |
The 3-Month Rule
Don't make major strategy changes based on less than 50 trades or 30 trading days of data. Statistical significance matters — small sample sizes produce misleading analytics.
