On July 12, 2026, NinjaTrader (owner of Tradovate) severed ties with Alpha Futures. While the public dispute centered on Alpha Futures launching a competing proprietary platform called "AlphaTrader," industry analysts point to deeper structural problems. The firm's "Premium Plan" featured highly trader-friendly rules (no daily loss limit, no consistency rules, non-sliding drawdown) that created an unsustainable and unprofitable business model. Facing mounting liquidity issues, Alpha Futures used the NinjaTrader platform disruption to completely discontinue the Premium Plan. While they are refunding Premium account subscriptions, they have controversially voided all pending and unpaid performance payouts for Premium users.
Alpha Futures operated with several account tiers, but their "Premium Plan" was highly popular due to extremely relaxed rules—including no daily loss guard, no consistency rules once funded, and non-sliding drawdowns. While attractive to traders, this model created significant liquidity strain for the firm. When NinjaTrader severed their partnership in July 2026 due to Alpha Futures launching a competing platform, the firm used the disruption to liquidate the unprofitable Premium Plan entirely, refusing to honor any pending payouts for those users.
