Leverage determines your buying power and how much margin is required to open a position. In the prop trading industry, standard leverage typically hovers around 1:30 to 1:50 for forex pairs, and much lower for indices and crypto. However, for traders employing aggressive scalping strategies, grid systems, or those looking to maximize their position sizing during high-probability setups, higher leverage is absolutely critical.
